Soil and Water Conservation involves the conservation of soil
and water resources through the implementation of various
methods and techniques such as Agroforestry, Terracing,
Contour Plowing, Cover Cropping, Water Harvesting, Riparian
Buffer Zones, Gully Plugging, Drip Irrigation, and Grassed
Waterways to prevent soil erosion, enhance soil fertility and
effectively manage natural resources. A B.Voc in Soil and
Water Conservation course is a UGC-approved 3-year degree
program aimed at offering students the practical experience
required to apply management strategies for soil and water
conservation in agriculture practices. With a focus on
practical training, the curriculum is specifically designed to
provide a dynamic balance of 80% practical learning and 20%
theoretical knowledge. This is achieved through internships,
industry visits, and advanced technical research. This
approach has been carefully designed to provide students
with a smooth educational experience and to enhance their
understanding of the subject.
